The Sitting Room

Poppy’s Place is warm and cosy, comfortably furnished but with everything you need for a relaxing break. The main sitting room in this comfortable apartment has two big sofas to sprawl in while you review the day just gone or plan for the one ahead.

The attractive furnishings and features by local artists and craftspeople make for a warm and comfortable refuge on those “occasional” blustery days and a flat-screen television if you want to switch off and relax.

The bathroom was completely refurbished in 2011 and is now fully tiled. Wake up to the day with an invigorating power shower, or unwind at the end of it in a relaxing hot bath.

The Front Double and Rear Twin Bedrooms

There are two bright and comfortable bedrooms; one double and one twin. Each benefits from a double wardrobe and chest of drawers providing plenty of storage.

Look out too for the finishing touches provided by Orkney artists and craft people; furniture by the award winning Kevin Gauld, pictures by Jane Glue, Jennie Baines and others, the Chinese inspired ceramics of David Holmes and many more.

The Kitchen and Dining Room

In addition to this for evenings or perhaps the occasional lazy day there are books, videos and DVDs.The holiday apartment is fitted with efficient heating throughout, plenty of storage and laundry facilities; all these take care of the basics and make Poppy’s Place great to come home to after a busy day.

You’ll have found some special local treats in the gift hamper of Orkney produce that we give you to get started on your holiday.

You can enjoy some of these in the well appointed kitchen and dining room where you can enjoy fabulous meals and make plans for the new day over a leisurely breakfast.
